We are located in the Lake Cable Community of Jackson Township in Canton, Ohio. Our Cub Scout Pack is chartered by John Knox Presbyterian Church and is a member of the Seneca District of the Buckeye Council. Cub Scouting is part of of the larger national organization of the Boy Scouts of America. We have a great program which has grown to over 60 boys in first through fifth girades. Our Pack meets the third Thursday of every month during the school year at 6:30 at John Knox Presbyterian Church. Most of our members attend Lake Cable Elementary School, but we welcome other boys in the area who are interested in joining Cub Scouting. Boys can join any time of the year.
Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting. It is designed to offer fun and challenging activities to promote character, development, citizenship, and physical fitness for boys who are in the first through fifth grade, or age 6-11. Cub Scouting means "doing." You have lots to do as a Cub Scout - crafts, games, sports, songs, and puzzles to name a few. Cub Scouts join a Pack and are assigned to a Den of usually 6-10 boys of the same age.
Cub Scouts also go to events like the annual Blue and Gold banquet, day camps, and derbies such as the Pinewood Derby. They go on field trips. They go camping and have other kinds of outdoor adventures. They take part in Community events. Cub Scouts do all sorts of exciting stuff! Whatever it is that you enjoy, you'll have the chance to do it in Cub Scouting. Apart from the fun and excitement of Scouting, the aim of Cub Scouting is to help boys grow into good citizens who are strong in character and personally fit. Cub Scouting is fun, with a purpose.
